Africa is Missing Out on Internet Tourism
Southern Africa is losing millions of potential tourists because the travel industry is not really about their products to consumers on the Internet.
“Travel is now the number one online sale of goods. For 70% of online travelers is the first point,” Damian Cook, Managing Director of e-tourism in Africa, told a conference on e-tourism in South Africa in Johannesburg week.
“There is a huge discrepancy between the way business is done in the world and how it happens in Africa, is the so-called” digital divide “-. We are not in line with what is happening in the world.”
Koch said that is only a website is not enough – tourists want to be able to find not only the needed information, but also book online now.
